Description: Often called β€œa hidden gem,” Candlestick Point SRA is a tapestry of grassy uplands, coastal salt marsh, intertidal mudflats, and pocket beaches where community members fish, barbeque, exercise, windsurf, and find respite from city life. There are six accessible campsites available for group reservations located at Sunrise Point, each with a picnic table, food storage box, grill, access to potable water, and beautiful views of the bay and surrounding hills. The campground is only steps away from a public fishing pier from which campers can catch jack smelt, halibut, leopard sharks, and bat rays depending on the season.

Description: Hiker/Biker Enroute Camping is available for one night only at Francis Beach Campground for individuals who are long-distance hiking or biking the California coast. Campers arriving by vehicle are not eligible for hike and bike camping. The hike and bike area features shared picnic tables, food lockers, and fire rings. Hike and bike camping is available on a first come, first served basis in person at Francis Entrance Station beginning at 2 pm.

Description: Doran Regional Park features a wide, 2-mile stretch of beach on Bodega Bay and more than 120 campsites available for reservation year-round. The park is a destination for walking, picnicking, birdwatching, fishing, kayaking, body boarding, kite surfing and other water sports. A boat launch provides access to Bodega Bay and Bodega Harbor, and a jetty on the park's west end is a popular spot for rock fishing and exploring sea life. Due to Doran's south-facing beach, waves here are typically calmer than elsewhere on the Sonoma Coast, making the park a favorite for families. The park can be busy on holidays and summer weekends, and the entrance will close when the parking areas fill. On those days, plan to arrive by mid-morning and have an alternate destination in mind. Doran Regional Park features campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. Reservations are required and can be made up to 12 months in advance. The park includes five campground areas: The Shell, Gull and Cove campsites between Bodega Harbor and Doran Beach Road and the Jetty and Miwok campsites between Bodega Bay and Doran Beach Road. Electrical hook-ups are not available. Generator hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Potable water is available. Restrooms feature flush toilets, coin-operated showers and electrical outlets. Dogs on leash are allowed with a fee. Dump station fee is $10.

Description: Coast Campground is nestled within a small coastal valley with easy access to the beach and tidepools. The beach is within 220 yards of the campground & tidepools are located ~720 yards to the southeast. One may access Coast Campground by foot, bicycle, or horse; not by boat, auto, or RV. The shortest approach on solid ground is via the 1.8-mile slightly uphill hike on the Laguna & Fire Lane Trails, starting at the Laguna Trailhead just east of Limantour Lodge. There are 12 regular sites & two group sites.

Description: Sky Campground is located on the western side of Mount Wittenberg at an elevation of 1025 feet. In clear weather, it has a sweeping view of Point Reyes, Drakes Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. It is a steep 4-mile hike down to the beach. One may access Sky Campground by foot, bicycle, or horse; not by boat, auto, or RV. The easiest and shortest approach is a 1.4-mile moderate uphill hike or bicycle ride from the Sky Trailhead (elevation 680 feet) via Sky Trail. There are 11 regular sites and one group site.

Description: Wildcat Campground is located in an open meadow on a bluff overlooking the ocean with a short walk to the beach. One may access Wildcat Campground by foot, bicycle, or horse; not by boat, auto, or RV. It is a 6.3-mile hike from Bear Valley Trailhead or a 5.5-mile hike from the Palomarin Trailhead. The only bicycling route is via a strenuous 6.7-mile ride along the Stewart Trail from the Five Brooks Trailhead. There are five regular (1- to 6-person) sites and three group (7- to 25-person) sites.

Description: Glen Campground is located deep within a wooded valley protected from ocean breezes. The closest beach is 2.5-miles away. One may access Glen Camp by foot or bicycle; not by horse, boat, auto, or RV. The shortest route to Glen Camp is via a 4.6-mile hike from the Bear Valley Trailhead. To ride a bicycle to Glen Camp start at the Five Brooks Trailhead for a 6.3-mile bike ride. No groups (parties of seven or more), horses, or pack animals are allowed. There are 12 regular (i.e., one- to six-person) sites.

Description: Located about six miles southwest of La Honda, Portola Redwoods State Park has a rugged, natural basin forested with coast redwoods, Douglas Fir and live oak. The park has one of the tallest redwoods (300 feet high) in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Eighteen miles of trails crisscross the canyon and its two streams, Peters Creek and Pescadero Creek. A short nature trail along Pescadero Creek introduces visitors to the natural history of the area. Visitors can see clam shells and other marine deposits from the time when the area was once covered by the ocean. Activities: Camping, Hiking, Backpacking Camping: The park has 4 group sites, 56 family sites, and six backpack sites. There is no camping December 1 through March 31. Reservations are required. Family and Group campsites include: Tables, Wooden Foodlockers, Restrooms, Coin-operated Showers (main campground only, see map), Running Water Note: due to raccoons, food is not safe in food lockers and should be stored in cars overnight. BACKPACKING: Trail camps can accommodate up to six people per site and are available April 1 through November 30. Reservations are required. Limit, 6 people per site. Stoves are OK, but no open fires. Back Packing Camp is 3 Miles from Parking Lot GROUP CAMPING: Reservations are required for Group Camps and may be reserved from April 1 through November 30. There are four group camps at Portola. Ravine and Hillside are near each other. Point and Circle are near each other. FAMILY CAMPSITES: There are 52 regular campsites and four walk-in sites. Family campsites are on a first-come-first-served basis from April 1 to May 21, and September 2 through November 30. These sites may be reserved seven months in advance for May 22 through September 1. Reservations are needed for weekends and holidays during the reservation period as the campground fills by reservation. Limit 8 people per site. The first vehicle is included in the camping fee. Some sites can accommodate a second vehicle.
